KOH LIPE “Maldives of Thailand”

Koh Lipe is a small island located at Satun province. Koh Lipe is the tourist attraction places that mostly of tourist decide to stay overnight here. Koh Lipe is well known in “Maldives of Thailand”.

 

The surrounding around island is crystal clear water and a lot of coral reef and numerous types of fish. The important beaches are Bundhaya bay (Pattaya beach),Chao Lay bay and Pramong bay.

 

Koh Lipe is a sea-gypsy (Urak Lawoi) resident located here. So there are the community, school and health center.

 

There are many excellent atmosphere resorts for service. More than the halves of resort in the island sickle moon shape, white powdered sand beach and clear emerald green seawater.

 

Koh Lipe is the hub for tourist visiting nearby islands.

 

Place of interest:

• Tarutao Naional Park operated by government. Accommodation, restaurant for services. The Electricity operated at 6 pm-10.30 pm. Suitable for the tourist love quite and relaxing. Can be reservation room via www.booking.com.

*Remark: The Tourist must be paid the National Park Fee for Tarutao National Park, Koh Adang and Koh Rawi Thai People 80 baht and foreigner 400 baht. Pay only once. Keep receipt to visit Koh Adang and Koh Rawi no need to pay more within 7 days.

• Koh Khai is a symbol of Satun province. The small island established between Koh Tarutao and Koh Adang. In the past, this island has a turtle come to egg here. The shape of stone is so miracle and the white sand beach and clear greenish blue sea. (The boat will stop here for taking a photo for 15 minutes).
• Koh Hin-ngam is the black rock beach. The small island in Mu Koh Adang-Rawi does not have sand but only black rock in this island. They believe someone take the rock from this island back to home will unlucky and must bring it back to the island because of Tarutao’s spirit. If you want your wish is come true, must be lie the rock for 13 levels.
• Koh Jabang is the most beautiful soft coral, 7-color suitable for snorkeling and scuba diving. Do not miss to see the coral here.
• Koh Rawi, the white sand beach. Who love to snorkeling can be see the coral and numerous fish along the beach or someone want to relax on the beach or swimming can be done.

• Koh Hin-Sorn is the last island of Thailand. You will see the 2 big stone. Just for taking a photo here but the nearby island is suitable for snorkeling are Koh Dong, Koh Pueng, Koh Hin-Sorn (soft coral).
• Koh Adang is the biggest island in Mu Koh Adang-Rawi operates by government. Distance from Koh Lipe 2 Kms. Can be stay overnight here. The Electricity operated at 6 pm-10.30 pm. Suitable for the tourist love quite and relaxing.

Accomodation:

            On the Lipe island have a many resort, bungalow, bamboo hut for service you. The price is different from the type and the facilities in the place. Some resort has operated electricity 24 hours a day but most of alls have operate electricity on the evening (6 pm-6 am).

            Otherwise you can look around the island. But for SURE! Please make a reservation the room before arriving because on the high season the place of stay in the island is not enough for the traveler.

            You can find the restaurant and shop around the island except the restaurant’s resort.

Remark:

• Alls the tourist should be pay for long tail boat from the ferry boat or speed boat to Koh Lipe or Koh Adang 50 baht per person. This price is NOT INCLUDE in the boat ticket.
• Alls the tourist who want to stay overnight at Koh Tarutao and Koh Adang should be pay the national park fee for 400 baht per person for the foreigner because Koh Tarutao and Koh Adang is operate by the government under the National Marine Park.
• Alls the tourist who go to the white sandy beach, Koh Rawi should be pay the national park too. Koh Rawi is a sub division of the national park. On the beach has a small shop and food for buying.
• The National Park Fee paid only one time. If you pay at the Koh Tarutao, no need to pay at Koh Rawi or Koh Adang anymore. It can be used 7 days. Don’t forget to keep the ticket for present to the authorities.
